Now Accepting Committee Applications

The Catherine McAuley Center is looking for new committee members to support the work of our Board of Directors beginning in 2023. The Board receives recommendations from committees that focus on different operational aspects of the Center, including the Community Outreach Committee, Finance Committee, Governance Committee, Personnel Committee and Program Effectiveness Committee. These committees are composed of members of the community at large and meet quarterly to discuss their designated areas

The mission of the Catherine McAuley Center (the Center) is to provide temporary shelter for women, children, and individuals in crisis through individualized case management empowering them to secure and maintain safe and affordable, permanent housing. The Catherine McAuley Center is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy.

Committee Member Responsibilities

• Attend quarterly in-person or teleconference meetings

• Commitment to the mission and values of the CMC

• Willingness and availability to serve the population across Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties

• Sensitivity to challenges of homeless

• Integrity

• Team Player/ respect for other ideas and opinions

• Knowledge of homeless population (current and emerging issues)

• Knowledge of committee focus
