In-Kind Donations

Families staying in the Catherine McAuley Center’s housing facilities, need the same household items you use at home.

 

See the Wish List below that categorizes and details the items we usually need both at our emergency shelters and scattered-site transitional housing.

Dress for Success:

  • Business casual  clothing

  • Jeans and shirts

  • Scrubs

  • Restaurant clothing  (Black pants, white & black button-down shirts)

  • Shoes and purses

  • Coats,  winter scarves,  gloves)

  • Dress scarves

  • Undergarments (must be new)

  • Makeup and jewelry 

Goodwill

  • Clothing, shoes, winter coats, scarves, hats, gloves, etc.

  • Jewelry, purses, accessories

  • DVDs, CDs, radios, DVD players, etc.

  • Furniture and household items.

  • (NO large appliances, stoves, fridge, baby furniture, or baby items, etc.)

  • Will NOT accept: cribs, large TV, chemicals, large appliances, mattresses, or baby products. 

United Neighborhoods Center: (Angel’s Attic)

  • Clothing, shoes, winter coats,  accessories  (all sizes)

  • Household items, dishes, small appliances, small furniture, etc.

  • Toys, stuffed animals (new and used),  children’s books.

  • Food, cleaning supplies, toiletries.  

Friends of the Poor

  • Clothing (no neckties, single socks or leather)

  • Purses, belts, shoes

  • Linens (sheets, quilts, comforter, etc. NO PILLOWS)

  • Furniture

  • Appliances, dishes, silverware  

St. Joseph’s Center Baby Pantry

320 S. Blakely St. Dunmore

  • Diapers, wipes, shampoo, body wash, lotions, etc.

  • Baby food, formula, etc.

  • Baby clothing, shoes, coats, hat, gloves, & scarves

  • Baby furniture (cribs, dressers, changing tables, etc.)

  • Car seats, strollers, high chairs, &  walkers

  • Bottles, bottle warmers, sippy cups, etc. 

Salvation Army

500 S. Washington Ave. Scranton

  • Clothing in good condition

  • Mattresses in good condition

  • Furniture and household products including China dishes, small appliances

  • All household décor

  • Will NOT accept: Cribs, pack & plays, or expired car seats.

WishLists

Our Amazon Wish Lists continue to be updated as new client requests are shared, various items are donated and needs are met. Many donors have found these lists an easy way to purchase items and have them shipped directly to our administration building. Some volunteers have chosen to do donation drives inspired by the wish lists. There are lists specifically for items needed by our two 30-day shelters as well as a general list for clients participating in our other programs.
