Family Support Program case manager Tara Joyce has been quietly reaching out beyond the Catherine McAuley Center’s housing programs to provide spare resources to the unhoused and at-risk residents in Scranton’s Pine Brook neighborhood for 20 years.

The Catherine McAuley Center is looking for new committee members to support the work of our Board of Directors beginning in 2023.

On August 16, 2022, the Ladies Golf Association of the Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit held their annual tournament to benefit an organization that prioritizes helping women and children in need. This year, the Catherine McAuley Center was the lucky recipient of a check totaling $34,1900. The funds were raised through sponsorships, private donations, and multiple raffles.

The Center is now interviewing candidates for a Case Manager to work with our Permanent Supportive Housing for Families program.

Period Action Day is a call to menstrual health activists around the world as a day to action in synchrony. One in four students still cannot afford period products and 51 percent have worn products for longer than recommended.

Adopt-A-Family Registration Opens on Wednesday, Oct. 5

Donations of new sheets, blankets, and pillows are a very tangible way you can help families in crisis feel comfortable and get a better night's sleep as they move into our shelters or into one of our housing programs.

Community members in need are encouraged to make an appointment to pick up a food package from the Food Pantry at McAuley.
