Emergency Housing

These units provide a temporary residence for women and their children who are in crisis which leaves them homeless.

Therese's Home is named in honor of Sr. Therese Marques, RSM, and her legacy of service to the Catherine McAuley Center. Applicants must be residents of Lackawanna County for the last three months. Women must be homeless for reasons other than domestic violence; drug and alcohol-free; physically and emotionally able to care for their children; and willing to assist with household tasks and cooperate in a shared living situation.

The Catherine McAuley House in Plymouth is one of two free, thirty-day residences for women and children experiencing homelessness. The units provide a temporary residence for women and their children who are in crisis which leaves them homeless. Residents are expected to be drug and alcohol-free, physically and emotionally able to care for their children, and willing to assist with household tasks. Applicants must be residents of Luzerne County.

Services include:
Shelter (up to 30 days)
Case management
Linkages to community resources.
All services are provided free of charge.
