Furniture Bank

The Center’s Furniture Bank is a resource provided to the homeless women and children who come to the Catherine McAuley Center in search of a new beginning.

Good, used furniture and household items are provided, at no cost, to women enrolled in the Center's programs, as they move back into safe, decent, and affordable housing.

The Bank has three (3) locations

  • A storage facility at the Cross Apartments, 507 Broadway Ave., Scranton, PA.
  • A small garage at the Garber Street House, Hanover Township, PA.
  • The basement of the 709 Madison Ave., Scranton, PA building.

The Center in Scranton has a van to pick up donated furniture. However, it is necessary to schedule an appropriate time with the Furniture Coordinator. The telephone # is 570-342-1342.

The Furniture Bank includes furniture, bedding, kitchen sets, dishes, rugs, and appliances. Donations are received from individuals/organizations throughout the community.
